of breaking the hundred thousand dollar a year barrier. Several
of our grads have done that. Some within their first couple years
in the biz!
How many years does
it take for almost all of the present day aspiring writers, directors,
and producers to realize that they have been barking up the wrong
tree in their quest for success, fame and fortune. The reality road
to success for most is on a much different path! That path is mainly
based on professional highly skilled
craftsmanship, not on academia or festival film approaches.!

and schedule your projects for multi-million dollar theatrical feature
films for worldwide release. Learn how to convert a submission script

the festival or Direct-To-Video fare. Learn how to get started in
films in a key job as a department head on your first job in films!
While working in a key
job on films and on television shows, many aspiring Writers, Producers,
Directors, and Actors of the future are in a far better spot to
position themselves and rise up into their long term career goals!!
Rise above the crowd and start working in your long lasting film
career as a department head, rather than as an "intern"
or lowly entry-level "production assistant," or else just
doing a job as an assistant to somebody important.
Many of the present day
Writers, Producers, Directors, and Actors have started as Script
Supervisors, including some trained by Durgin. Script Supervising
is, and always has been, the stepping-stone to Directing. Many prominent
Directors, including some recently trained by Durgin and now directing,
started by working as Script Supervisors. "John Schlessinger,
an Academy Award winning Director told me that he started as a Script
Supervisor," says Durgin. "Also, Walter Mirisch told me
recently," continues Durgin, " that Sam Peckinpah started
in that job." It's been said that even John Ford and Alfred
HItchcock started films in that position. It is still the stepping-stone
today for many hopefuls really wishing to Direct films. Learn Directing
dramatic shows, commercials and music videos by working Script.
Becoming an inside person
while working in the making of films does provides a far superior
opportunity for the success of aspiring Writers, Directors and Actors
to reach their goals of fame, glory and wealth. Working in films
is much better than waiting on tables or parking cars.
Learn from our teaching
professionals how to produce movies, conduct acquisitions, perform
development of films, negotiate for name stars, and to assemble
the elements essential for fund raising. Also learn how to produce
your product with the newest, most efficient cost saving procedures
to make a major motion picture at a lower cost and with improved
quality in the format of your choice.
Skip the long tedious
expensive path pursued by the hundreds of thousand of film graduates
attempting to enter these fields in the last several years. A great
majority of those hopefuls fail to ever reach their goals. Very
very few of these grads from around the country and around the world
actually end up earning a living in films. The majority seem to
eventually change careers and pursue other occupations. Many become
film teachers.
Pursue a practical career
path that can greatly improve your chances to Write, Produce, Direct
and even star in theatrical motion pictures and television. And
earn good money while working in films when you do that. This is
a vocational school!
